Position Summary
Minot State University (MiSU) Department of Biology invites applications for a cell/molecular biologist at the rank of Assistant Professor. The applicant will be expected to contribute to teaching introductory-level biology courses as well as teach a required genetics course. The successful applicant will also be expected to teach upper-level courses in their area of expertise, develop a research program appropriate for an undergraduate institution, and to involve undergraduate students in directed research. The department is well-equipped for both teaching and research. Our resources include: a cell culture facility, thermal cyclers including qPCR, Western Blot, chemiluminescence imaging, 2-D SDS PAGE, electroporator, electrophoresis set ups, growth lights, DNA/RNA extraction set ups and quality control, growth incubators, and growth chambers for cells and plants.

The position has a start date of August 15th, 2024.

Responsibilities
Tenure-track positions at MiSU have core responsibilities of teaching, scholarship, and service. MiSU is a teaching-focused institution. The applicant is expected to develop and teach biology course lectures and associated labs. The applicant is also expected to advise students, provide service to the department and university, and maintain a research program involving undergraduate students.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must have earned a Ph.D. or be ABD with expected successful doctoral dissertation defense within 6 months of position start date.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and an established record of research.
