Position: Graduate Assistant (1/8 appointment)

Department: Education and Inclusive Services

Program: Master of Education

Hours: 5 hours per week

Duration: Beginning for Spring Semester to End of Spring Semester

Location: Swain/Online

Description:

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Master of Education students to join our team as Graduate Assistants. This 1/8 appointment provides a unique opportunity for professional development, mentorship, and active involvement in the academic community.

Responsibilities:

As a Graduate Assistant, you will work closely with graduate faculty members, contributing to various aspects of their work in research, instruction, service, and administrative tasks. Key responsibilities could include:

  1. Research Assistance:
    • Support faculty in ongoing research projects.
    • Assist in literature reviews, data collection, and analysis.
  2. Instructional Support:
    • Aid in course preparation and materials development.
    • Provide assistance during classes or workshops as needed.
  3. Service Contributions:
    • Collaborate on departmental or programmatic initiatives.
    • Engage in activities that contribute to the academic community.
  4. Administrative Tasks:
    • Assist with organizing events, meetings, and seminars.
    • Help manage departmental communications and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in the M.Ed program.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in education and a commitment to professional development.
