Job Title:                    Assistant/Associate Professor for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation

Location:                    Mayville, ND (on-campus and online)

Compensation:         Salary $50,745-$58,900 - 9-month contract; rank to commensurate with level of preparation and experience

Assistant Professor, starting at $50,745+

Minimum for Assistant is a Masters, with doctorate preferred.

Associate Professor starting at $58,900+

Minimum for an Associate is a Doctorate with six years of higher education experience.

Position Information: 

The Division of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at Mayville State University is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track position as Professor of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation.

Work within the Division and support the University, as a team member by collaborating with faculty, staff and students on committees, program planning, assessment, academic advising, and other needs as they become known. Teaching courses in the area of Exercise Physiology including and not limited to Exercise Physiology, Evaluation of Psychomotor Performance, or others depending on qualifications and interests as well as departmental need.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to teach and advise students.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and with students, faculty, staff, and community members with diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to adapt to current methods of teaching, including online delivery.
  • Ability to articulate and support the university’s personal service philosophy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Exercise Science, experience levels adding up to HLC needed credentials i.e. secondary education experience or graduate level credits, or related fields.
  • Relevant experience in teaching.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree, additional graduate level degree, or industry certification.
  • Experience with a variety of course delivery methods and technologies.
  • Three years full-time teaching experience at post-secondary institution.
