Position Information

 

Position Type:  Temporary, Part-time Position, 16-18 hours/week

Location:  Western Morton County – Aging in Community (AIC) office (Glen Ullin)

Position Purpose:
Provide assistance for the AIC Program, which is a grant-funded initiative to assist rural communities in responding to the needs of their older residents and their family members.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Understanding of rural way of life and familiarity with the community.
  2. Compassion for older adults.
  3. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new programs (Microsoft office, client software, social media, etc.)
  5. Good organizational skills.
  6. Ability to work autonomously, yet function as part of the AIC Program Team.
  7. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  8. High School Diploma required, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  9. Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide input and assistance with events and activities hosted by AIC.
  2. Promote the Aging in Community Program to area citizen groups (as potential clients) and civic organizations, churches, and businesses (as potential volunteers and supporters)
  3. Assist with program services (minor home repair, yard work, assistance with errands, friendly visits, commodities delivery, etc.)
  4. Maintain client data (client documentation, volunteer records, etc.)
  5. Network and collaborate with other service providers and community groups in meeting the needs of older community members.
  6. Provide transportation in some special situations.
