Position Description & Details

 

 

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Catering Cook to join our dynamic catering team in support of campus events. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of catering services by preparing and cooking food on a large scale.

  • Prepare and cook food as required for various campus catering events.
  • Inspect and maintain the cooking area and serving stations to ensure cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Follow communicated instructions and work independently after instructions are provided.
  • Utilize working knowledge of various methods of cooking and preparing foods to meet the diverse needs of our events.
  • Observe established health and safety requirements in all food service operations.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and maintain common courtesy in working relationships with students, employees, and the public.
  • Possesses basic computer skills, including proficiency in email and electronic calendar management (Outlook).
  • Availability for some weekend hours as catering events may occur during weekends.

  • Continuously – 66-100% - Use hands dexterously, talk or hear.
  • Frequently – 34-65% - Stand, walk, or sit.
  • Occasionally – 1-33% - Reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop/kneel/crouch or crawl, taste, or smell, or lift to 50 pounds.
  • Work may include lifting 50 pounds or more and exposure to hazards, which could result in physical injury.

Minimum Requirements

 
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of experience in large-scale cooking.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations in a food service setting.
