Position Description & Details

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for teaching Energy Services & Renewables courses and/or Industrial Automation & Robotics courses, which include theory instruction and hands-on (labs) instruction.
  • Responsible for preparing the lab equipment before daily class start time.
  • Responsible for determining and submitting grades on time after scheduled course end dates.

Minimum Requirements

 
  • Experience working in an industrial setting such as a manufacturing facility, a refinery or ethanol facility, a wind farm, or a factory that uses automation OR  
  • Experience with electronics, PLCs, hydraulics, motor control, process controls, or robotics.
  • Basic computer software skills - Microsoft Office Suite-Word, Excel, etc., email and electronic calendar, and strong Internet familiarity.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with trainees of diverse backgrounds and knowledge levels.

Preferred Qualifications

 
  • Curriculum development, teaching, and/or training experience.
  • Experience with hands-on teaching methods.
  • Experience with a variety of teaching resources, media, and technologies, including computer-aided instruction and/or online instruction technologies.
  • Industry-related certifications.

  • Continuously – 66-100% - Use hands dexterously, talk or hear.
  • Frequently – 34-66% - Stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, lift to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally – 1-33% - Climb or balance, stoop/kneel/crouch or crawl, taste, or smell, or lift 35 to 50 pounds.
