Job Title: Academic Advisor
Location: Mayville State University, Mayville, ND
Compensation: $40,283 - $48,339 (based on experience)
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (health insurance premiums paid 100% by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave. Position Details:
Mayville State University is seeking an Academic Advisor to provide high quality, intentional academic advising to degree-seeking students such that students feel supported along their educational path. This position collaborates with academic divisions and administrative units to support students and faculty advisors in meeting student advising needs by establishing a cohesive advising and student success model at Mayville State University
Required Competencies:
- Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work in a high paced environment and learn new concepts quickly
- Valid drivers license
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, with degree in Education, Business or Social Science preferred
- Experience in program development and management
- Minimum of two years' experience in an education environment or office setting
- Demonstrated ability to effectively, professionally and tactfully interact and communicate with students, faculty and staff
- Demonstrated understanding of the education role of academic advising in enhancing student learning and development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Previous experience in a higher education setting, with emphasis on academic and student support services
- Familiarity with Mayville state University academic programs and/or academic programs within the North Dakota University System
- Experience advising or mentoring students
- Experience working with underrepresented, at-risk, or other specific populations
- Experience in PeopleSoft, ConnectND, or Starfish
