Position Description & Details

 

 

Bismarck State College is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as a Continuing Education Operations Database Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the CE software database, analyzing and organizing data from various sources, and producing non-credit event and registration data reports. Additionally, you will handle communication with BSC and NDUS staff and vendors related to CE software and training lab hardware, including troubleshooting issues as they arise.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enter, manage, and monitor all event information entered into software database and other data collection sources.
  • Develop queries and customized reports to meet the internal and external reporting requirements of the department.
  • Manage the maintenance, planning, and development of any software database modifications to ensure consistency.
  • Research, analyze, and resolve any software database, payment gateway or online issues received from customers or staff.
  • General and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

 
  • Appropriate associate degree (e.g., information systems, database management) or 4 years of database-related work experience.
  • Understanding of relational database setup, queries, and functionality.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), Outlook, and electronic calendar management.
  • Basic understanding of HTML codes, tags, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and proactive approach to data integrity and management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
